Mentorship Program

Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program
Our Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program is designed for teachers who have already completed a yoga teacher training and are looking for a supportive, individualized way to deepen their knowledge, refine their teaching skills, and continue growing as teachers.
Offered alongside our Yoga Teacher Training program, this mentorship provides a unique opportunity to step back into the learning environment with greater experience and perspective. Mentees are invited to attend any Saturday or Sunday YTT sessions during the duration of the program, October 2026 to April 2027, that feels most relevant to their interests and areas of growth. The program is intentionally flexible, allowing each participant to shape the experience around what they most want to learn.
During YTT sessions, mentees may observe and participate in YTT sessions such as teaching methodology, anatomy, sequencing, alignment, philosophy, and the art and skill of adjusting. They will also have opportunities to practice giving hands-on adjustments and assists while Tami and Jodi are teaching the YTT group. Mentees will also serve as demonstration models for adjustment work, and learn through observation of both the teaching process and the development of newer teachers.
An important part of the mentorship is the opportunity to receive individualized guidance. Each mentee will have four private one-on-one mentorship sessions over the course of the program: two with Jodi and two with Tami. These meetings provide space to explore each mentee’s individual goals, questions, challenges, teaching style, and areas of interest. Topics may include sequencing, cueing, working with different bodies and abilities, developing confidence, finding an authentic teaching voice, navigating challenging classroom situations, building workshops or retreats, or simply exploring what it means to continue evolving as a teacher. One-on-one meetings are held at a mutually agreeable place, and can include Tami and Jodi’s offices, Greenlake, coffee shop, etc.
Our intention is to provide teachers the opportunity to gain practical teaching experience, build confidence and refine skills under the direct guidance of Tami and Jodi.
Mentees will also read Donna Farhi’s Teaching Yoga: Exploring the Teacher-Student Relationship, a foundational text that invites thoughtful exploration of the responsibilities, ethics, boundaries, and relational aspects of teaching yoga. The book will serve as a framework for reflection and conversation throughout the mentorship. A two-page reflection paper will also be required.
Because we want this experience to remain highly personal and meaningful, the mentorship is limited two participants.
This program may be especially supportive for teachers who are wanting to:
- Refresh and deepen what they learned in their original teacher training
- Strengthen confidence in the classroom
- Refine cueing, sequencing, and teaching methodology
- Develop greater skill with hands-on assists and adjustments
- Deepen their understanding of anatomy, alignment, and working with individual bodies
- Explore the teacher-student relationship, professional boundaries, and the ethics of teaching
- Receive personalized feedback and guidance from experienced teachers
- Reconnect with the inspiration and curiosity that first drew them to teaching
- Continue developing an authentic, grounded, and embodied teaching presence
Rather than functioning as another formal teacher training, this mentorship is intended to be a flexible, relational, and individualized next step for teachers who want continued support as they grow into their own unique way of teaching.
You do not have to be a graduate of the Synergy Yoga School YTT to participate. The program runs October 2026 – April 2027, alongside the Synergy Yoga School Teacher Training program. The program culminates with Tami and Jodi attending one of your yoga classes and providing feedback.
The cost of the program is $1,250. The location is Blosm studio in Wedgwood. To apply, please write an email to Tami and Jodi answering these questions:
1. Please share where you are at with your yoga education and/or your current yoga teaching.
2. Why you are interested in doing a mentorship program at this time.
3. Your specific learning goals.
